We'd like to introduce you to ...
YOU!

Dear  [first_name],

It’s not the Kabbalah of Madonna.

It’s not the Kabbalah of Demi Moore, Britney Spears, Roseanne Barr, or any other celebrity.

It’s The Kabbalah of YOU!

On Yom Kippur I spoke about the Jews who sacrificed their very lives for the sake of Jewish Education during the worst excesses of the Stalinist Era. Why?  Because Judaism cannot survive without learning.

Without Jewish Education Judaism would not have survived the communists, nor would we be witnessing the great Jewish revival in Russia today.

Without Jewish Education, for Adults as well as children, Judaism cannot survive here either!

This remarkable new course from JLI is a journey of Jewish self-discovery unlike anything you may have learned in college or from any book. It can lead you to deeper insights and greater understanding of your life and your relationships with yourself, with others, and with G-d.

If you’re at a stage of life where you are just beginning new ventures ... if you are accepting greater responsibiliies ... if you want to be a better spouse, a better parent ... this is a course for YOU! And if you are at a stage of life where you have become cynical, questioning the purpose of it all, this course is for YOU too!

Kabbalah has fascinated Jewish sages and mystics throughout the centuries. And many people today believe it holds the key to life’s most profound mysteries and truths.

The Course brochure is available in Shul and will be coming to your letterbox straight after Succot Yom Tov so please take a look and learn more about The Kabbalah of You. It begins on Monday Oct-29th (evenings at 7.45pm) and Wednesday Oct-31 (mornings at 7.45am) and continues for six weeks. Each session covers a different area of Kabbalah.

The cost is for all six sessions and includes a valuable course book as well as additional readings. Please click here to view cost/date information.

I expect The Kabbalah of You to be very popular, and I don’t want you to miss out. Please call Helen on 9371 7300 ext 4 , or email secretary@southhead.org as soon as possible,  to reserve your place.

Rabbi Tobias Silberman obm
He Will be Fondly Remembered

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Rabbi Tobias Silberman, of blessed memory, my immediate predecessor at South Head. As befitting a man of his stature, Rabbi Silberman returned his soul to Hashem on the holy day of Yom Kippur.  Please visit our homepage for more details.

What is Succot?

Succot is a Festival of Joy!
Succot is a Festival of Unity!
Succot is a Festival of Victory!

The JOY is expressed in its name - The Festival of Our Rejoicing.
The UNITY is expressed in tying together of the Four Species of the Lulav - each symbolising a different kind of Jew.
The VICTORY is expressed in the Victory March around the Bima with our Lulav held high

We therefore wish each of you a truly happy and joyous Succot, filled with the laughter of family and friends, prayers (and action) for the unity of all Jews, and our victory against all those who would harm us, especially in Israel.

Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach!
We look forward toseeing you in shule and  hosting you in our home on Simchat Torah, Monday evening October 8th

Rabbi and Rebbetzin Benzion Milecki

Parsha Sheet
Ha azinu

Moshe composes a song for the Jewish people, warning them against committing sins.

He tells them that because he sinned, and hit the rock instead of speaking to the rock, he has been punished - he will not be entering the land of Israel together with the Jewish people, but will pass away in the desert.
