Dear [first_name],

Henya & I extend a warm invite to each and every one of you personally to be our guest in Shul on Friday evening as we celebrate the Festival of Lights.

For the first time we will be having the elite of Sydney Jewish musicians join us at South Head. We are thrilled to have Chazzan Yehoshua Niasoff together with Hylton Chilchik, Joel Scheftz, Robbie Teicher and the South Head choir inspire us with a Musical Kabbalat Shabbat service which will commence promptly at 6.10pm. We look forward to having you join us and sing along, as we celebrate the Chanukah spirit.

Together with the President, I would like to personally thank the Chazzan, Hylton, Joel and the choir for the tremendous effort they have put in to ensure we experience a joyful and uplifting Kabbalat Shabbat service. We would also like to extend our thanks to Nissa Niasoff for her large involvement in preparing and writing the music notes for the service.

Following the Musical Kabbalat Shabbat service we will hold our Latkes & Lager event which will include our Grand Communal Menorah Lighting, Communal Shabbat Candle Lighting, local lager beers, potato latkes, donuts, chicken nuggets, burgers & more! We will then return upstairs at 7.10pm to conclude the service.

Of course, we must not forget the children! Our Youth Directors have organised a fantastic LED lights show for the children commencing at 5.45pm in the Braham Hall. The children will be amazed by the exciting tricks our performer has in store for them!

With best wishes for a Good Shabbos on behalf of the Rebbetzin and all of us at South Head,

Rabbi Benzion Milecki OAM

"Chanukah"

Its History, Observance and Significance - A Presentation Based on Talmudic and Traditional Sources, editors Rabbi Nosson Scherman and Meir Zlotowitz.

What is Chanukah? Who were the Maccabees? How long did it take for the heroic Hasmonean family to subdue the Syrian-Greek tyrant Antiochus? What are the prayers, the laws and the rituals of Chanukah? This publication discusses the festival of Chanukah from many different aspects and gives us an increased understanding of the festival.

Shabbat Shalom,
