Rebbetzin Henya and I bless you with a year of inner peace and harmony, and the true joy and deep happiness that comes from: meaningful achievement in your personal lives and in your contribution to the lives of others; freedom from conflict and worry over health, family or finance; and the confidence that Hashem is with you, loves you and guides you.
With best wishes for a Shabbat Shalom and Ketiva v'Chatima Tova l'Shana Tova U'Metuka to you and all your family on behalf of all of us at South Head.
Rabbi Benzion Milecki
P.S. Based on your feedback, the Chazan and I are working very hard to ensure that the Rosh HaShanah service concludes no later than 1.20pm
In order to achieve this, we need to blow the Shofar no later than 10.30am.
As you know hearing the INITIAL blasts of the Shofar is THE primary mitzvah of Rosh HaShanah. It symbolises our acceptance and Coronation of G-d as our King. According to our Sages, it is at when the Shofar is sounded that the Heavens are opened and penetrated, our prayers enter directly before G-d, and He in turn blesses us with a good and sweet year.
Although, the Shofar is sounded at other times during the service, it is this FIRST time that is most important.
Could I therefore ask you to make every effort to be in shule no later than 10:20AM on both Monday and Tuesday. Apart from the very important spiritual reason above, this will also greatly assist in maintaining decorum in the Synagogue.

Operation Lifeline Rabbi David Hill
" ... it was my goal to figure out what would be the best thing that Young Israel could do for the Jewish people — not only in America, but also in the Soviet Union. In trying to sort that out, I decided to seek counsel of the sages of the generation. Among those I met with was the Lubavitcher Rebbe." full story
