![]() We are delighted to announce the opening of South Head's Sandra Bransky Library on Sunday 7th December. Librarian Mrs Sylvia Tuback has been hard at work for the better part of a year categorizing and preparing our broad selection of books with subjects ranging from Biographies to History; Science & Religion to Business and Medical Ethics; Modern Orthodoxy to Religious Zionism and Chassidic Literature. There are books on Marriage, Mitzvot and Prayer; Talmud, Mishna and Chumash. Books range from basic to advanced, literally something for everyone! The library will be open for three weeks before the summer break to give you the opportunity to stock up on some quality reading for those long hot days… For the next three Sundays [Dec 7, 14, 21] you are invited to come in, browse and borrow between 9am - 12noon. The library will reopen from January 18th on a weekly basis. We take this opportunity of thanking our Librarian, Mrs Sylvia Tuback who has worked diligently and devotedly to bring us to this point where we are now ready to open our doors to you.
Last Friday night we were honoured to host Chief Rabbi Ephraim & Rebbetzin Valerie Mirvis both in shule and as our guests at our Bat Mitzvah Graduation Dinner. I was especially gratified to learn how impressed they were with the articulate presentations of the girls in our BatMitzvah Discovery Program, with their exceptional teacher Brookie and with the Rebbetzen’s delicious catering! Tonight we will be honoured to hear from Mr Rolly Nagel, President of the Australian branch of Magen David Adom, who has just returned from Israel and will report on last week’s International MDA Conference. On behalf of the Rebbetzin and all of us at South Head, wishing you a Good & Peaceful Shabbos. Rabbi Benzion Milecki OAM JLI

![]() Vayetzei Q. Parashat Vayeitzei relates how Yakov found his life partner and established the ‘everlasting edifice’ of marriage. Many laws and customs of Jewish matrimony are derived from Yakov’s marriage. So what can we learn from this marriage? To learn all about the Parasha, download our Parasha sheet and share it around your Shabbat table so you and your family and friends can explore the Parasha of the week together.
