Two New Initiatives...
to Strengthen our Community

Dear [first_name] ,

1) Refuah Shleimah List

As we approach Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur, the time when we seek Hashem’s blessing for a healthy, happy and abundant year, it is appropriate to think of others sorely in need of Hashem’s blessings.

As I wrote to you earlier this week, we have embarked on a new project to inform you of those in our community who have suffered serious illness or accident and are in urgent need of a miraculous recovery. Those who  subscribe to the “Refuah Shleima List” will be sent the name of the person requiring a blessing and asked to say a short prayer and give a small sum of tzeddakah to a cause of their choice in the merit  of that person.

Only those who specifically subscribe to the Refuah Shleimah list will receive it. Nevertheless, I do urge you to subscribe so that we can invoke upon those in need the blessings that we would wish upon our own loved ones.

2) Birthday List

Rosh HaShana marks the birth of Adam and Eve. With this in mind we have commenced a new Jewish Birthday information service. No doubt you are aware of when your secular birthday is, but many are unaware of their Jewish Birthday. Even if they are aware, few pay attention as to when it falls in the current year. This new service, which commenced today, will express our good wishes to you on your Birthday, inform you of your Jewish birthday this year, and make a number of suggestions as to how you should commemorate and celebrate this wonderful day when your neshama first entered your body. It is a day that gives you much spiritual power and should be used to the utmost.

On behalf of the Rebbetzin and all of us at South Head, I wish you a Good and Peaceful Shabbos.

Rabbi Benzion Milecki OAM
