![]() The turn-out at shule this past Monday night - Tisha B'Av - was fantastic. Over 200 people participated in the program. Looking at the terrific attendance, I could not help imagining that very soon we will see a very different celebration on Tisha B'Av - when as promised by the Prophets it will be transformed into the greatest Yom Tov of all - as it is written: "Oh Rejoice in it, all those who mourned for her (Jerusalem)". I have been asked by a number of people who had to leave before the remarkable talk by Rabbi Yossi Jacobson, if I could post it on the web. Unfortunately it is not available for public viewing. However, we can share it privately on YouTube with recipients of eNews who write to Helen with a request. Click here to send her an email. The Daily Word

An example of some recent Daily Words: Fri-19-July It may be impossible to avoid negative thoughts entering your mind, but do not linger on negativity. Refocus your mind on positive thoughts! Wed-17-July The Temple's destruction and our Exile are merely the physical manifestation of our alienation from G-d and each other.Let's cure the cause! Fri-12-July G-d never demands of a person to do MORE than he can; but He does expect him to do ALL that he can! Thu-11-July G-d wishes to bless us with infinite blessings, but He desires our prayers and wants us to ask Him. Pray! Tue-9-July Rebbe: No matter how exalted the levels that you have already achieved, do not rest on your laurels - strive for ever greater heights! Mon-8-July Every ascent requires a descent - and occasionally even a fall - from one's previous level! This is the way of the world - night before day! Has the Third Temple Already Been Built? Three years ago I recorded a talk explaining why the Temple of King Herod was not considered to be the long-for Third Temple. I was happy to see that the class, which contains both important historical facts and a highly relevant ethical message, has attracted over 700 views. If you would like to view it, you can do so by clicking here. ![]() A reminder that our course What Does Israel Want? with Dr Ron Weiser AM, Honorary Life President of the Zionist Council of NSW, begins this Monday evening at 7.30pm Please reserve your place with Helen. Vaetchanan ![]() The Parasha in a nutshell: * Moshe continues his five-week long speech to the Jewish people. In his speech he reviews many Jewish laws. * Moshe calls out the 10 Commandments for all the Jewish people to hear. * Moshe tells the Jewish people that a Jewish boy is commanded to wear Tefillin from the time he turns Bar Mitzvah. * Moshe tells the Jewish people to place Mezuzot on their doorpost. Both, the Tefillin and the Mezuzot serve as a reminder of Hashem. * Moshe tells the Jewish people, 'You are a holy nation. Hashem has chosen you as His special nation'. To learn about the Parasha in more detail, download our Parasha sheet! Please share our Parasha sheet around your Shabbat table and let your family and friends explore the Parasha of the week together with you. Communal Events
