![]() A Tribute to a Pillar of Our Community On Thursday afternoon the South Head Community lost one of its most devoted sons. Mr Nick Gardos was a member of our Board of Management for almost thirty years, serving with distinction as both Vice President and President. During his tenure, Nick left a strong mark on our Shul - there was hardly an area of shule life in which he was not personally involved. The Rebbetzen and I were able to hear Rabbi Sebban's eulogy to Nick over the phone this morning. It was a moving and inspiring tribute - truly excellently delivered. On behalf our families and our community, thank you, Rabbi Sebban. And thank you Chazan Niasoff for your beautiful rendition of the Hazkarah. After Rabbi Sebban's eulogy, I had the opportunity to relay a personal message to Nick and his family which was eloquently read by Mr Harold Milner. To read my tribute to Nick, please click here. From New York, the Rebbetzin and I send greetings and wish you a Good & Peaceful Shabbos. Rabbi Benzion Milecki OAM ![]() My Story
A Miraculous Concern Back to back with Monday's Annual JLI Conference, this past Tuesday marked 19 years since the Lubavitcher Rebbe's passing in 1994. Next week, G-d Willing, I will write about the uplifting experience of being in New York with thousands of visitors from all around the world at this auspicious time. ![]() In the meantime, allow me to share with you an inspiring story. It beautifully demonstrates that as great as is the Rebbe's ability to perform miracles, even greater is love and concern for every human being. The aim is to provide a better understanding of what motivates the Israeli leadership; to understand the Red Lines; to better predict Israel's actions, and to better understand the essence of Judaism. Essentially, why Israel does what she does. Join us four consecutive Monday evenings from July 22nd at 7.30pm •What is Zionism? •Settlements? •People! •Why is there No Peace? Now in the 21st Century over 13,000 highly trained volunteers operate from 110 stations all over Israel. Magen David Adom is always there providing emergency medical assistance to more than half a million situations a year. We welcome Mr Allan Bermeister, President of the Friends of MDA NSW, to address the congregation on Friday night.

Chukat This Week: * We are taught about the Mitzvah of the Red Heifer. * Moshe's sister, Miriam passes away. When she passes away, the well that accompanied the Jewish people in the desert in her merit, disappears. * The Jewish people complain about the food in the desert. They are punished with a plague of snakes. * Moshe's brother, Aharon passes away at the age of 123. * The Emorites plan to attack the Jewish people. Hashem foils their plans and kills them. To learn about the Parasha in more detail, download our Parasha sheet! Please share our Parasha sheet around your Shabbat table and let your family and friends explore the Parasha of the week together with you. |
