Rabbi's Message
Get Your Matzah NOW!

Dear [first_name]

I have obtained a limited supply of small boxes of Shmura Matza (three matzot in a box) for our congregants - for use at the Seder. If you would like us to reserve a box for you please contact the office asap on 9371 7300 or email admin@southhead.org as supplies are limited. This is a free service for congregants - only one box per family. Please note that due to a lack of resources we are unfortunately unable to deliver the matzah this year, but it is already available at Shule.

In honour of Shabbat HaGadol I will be delivering an in-depth Shiur on the Elimination of Chametz after davening on Shabbat morning. This is an opportunity to see how Talmud is studied in Yeshivas around the world.

With best wishes for a Good Shabbos on behalf of the Rebbetzin and all of us at South Head,

Rabbi Benzion Milecki OAM

Yizkor Reminder
Honour Your Loved Ones

Yizkor Services will be held on the last day of Pesach (Shabbat, April 30). Yizkor is a time to reminisce on our loved ones, to reflect upon their values and appreciate the gift that was their life. In the case of parents, Yizkor has even greater significance, as the Mitzvah of honouring parents applies even after death. Yizkor is an opportunity to thank them for giving us the gift of life and to pledge Tzedakah in their names.

If you wish to honour your loved ones by way of a donation in support of the Synagogue in its work of disseminating Torah to people if all ages, please email admin@southhead.org, call the office on 9371 7300 ext 1 or make a donation online by clicking here.

Simchat Yom Tov Fund
Share The Light

A brief reminder that there are a number of families in our community for whom Pesach presents serious financial stress. Please consider donating to our Simchas Yom Tov Fund for families in need. Either call the office on 9371 7300, email admin@southhead.org or make a donation online by clicking here.

Youth Crew
We're Here For You!

What a fun filled week we had at Camp Shalom! Over 200 children enjoyed a week of activities, fun and excitement in a Jewish environment. A big thank you to all of our counselors for their devotion to our campers.

We end off our exciting week with Birthday Club this Friday night. All children who celebrated their birthday's in the past couple of months are invited to come to Shule to celebrate their birthday Jewish style and receive a blessing a special birthday gift from Rabbi Milecki!

We're almost ready for our Children's Miniature Seder which will take place on Shabbat, April 23 at 10:30am. Every child will receive their own Haggadah, Kiddush cup and Seder plate and will get to taste some real Shmura Matzah! We can't wait to see you there!

Encouragement on the Campaign Trail
Mrs. Valerie Shore

As soon as we returned to Florida, my husband moved forward with the campaign, and he received the Republican nomination virtually without opposition. But then came the hard part. We were young and naïve and did not realize the amount of money that would be necessary to keep the campaign afloat. We had to hire expensive political advisors, and we took out substantial loans to pay for them. After a while, we began to question if we could raise enough money to make it till the end. Read more

Parashat Metzora

A Pesach Lesson

As the liberation of the Jewish people drew near, the Jewish people received a new command from Hashem: ‘take unto yourselves a lamb and prepare the passover sacrifice’. The lamb was worshipped by the Egyptians as a god, and the significance of this command was to withdraw from idolatry and cleave to the Mitzvot. As a prerequisite to this Mitzvah every Jewish male was required to be circumsized, showing that his ‘eternal covenant’ with Hashem was not merely in his soul, but also in his very flesh. Upon hearing this command, the Jewish men underwent circumcision. By merit of this Mitzvah and the blood of the Korban Pesach (which they were commanded to put onto their doorposts), the Jewish people were saved from the ‘destroyer’ - plague of the Killing of the Firstborn, when the Angel of Death passed over the homes of the Israelites.
